James R. Anglin, age 75, of Talbott, passed away peacefully Friday, December 27, 2019 after a long illness at Morristown-Hamblen Healthcare with his beloved wife Judy by his side. Born in Hickman County, TN, Jim was the youngest child of the late Charlie and Sadie Anglin. Jim was a kind and loving father and husband who also had a soft spot in his heart for all animals especially his two dogs Dixie and Rosie.
Jim proudly served in the US Air Force in Vietnam and then in the reserves. He was a true patriot who loved his country and the military and after his time in the Air Force, he was employed by the Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan for 35 years. Upon his retirement in 2001, Jim and Judy moved to his home state of Tennessee.
In addition to his cherished wife of 30 years, Jim leaves behind his beloved children, Dawn Poore and her husband, Tim; Mike Rose and his wife, Gina; his sister, Polly Chessor Lancaster; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his older brother, sister, and sister-in-law.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude for the exceptional care that both the nurses and Dr. Gupta of the Morristown Hamblen Healthcare extended to Jim; they treated him with compassion, dignity, and respect just as if he were a member of their families.
A military graveside service will take place 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery 2200 East Governor John Sevier Hwy Knoxville, TN 37920.
