Obituary Betty Jean (Wheeler) Hawkins, age 87 of Talbott, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2016 at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Reed Hawkins; parents William Bert Wheeler, Sr. and Sarah Ellen (Cook) Wheeler; great-grandaughter, Julie Hawkins; brothers, George, Lewis, Henry, William Bert, Jr., and Charles Wheeler.Survivors include her son, Jackie Eugene (Janice) Hawkins, Sr.; grandchildren, James (Cheryl) Hawkins, Jackie (Susie) Hawkins, Jr., and Joni Marie (Jeff) Hansen; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Brenda (Jerry) Horton and Judy (Wayne) Campbell; brother, Ellis (Charlene) Wheeler; and several nieces and nephews.Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Alder-Mayes Funeral Home and the funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. Family and friends will meet Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Philippi Baptist Church Cemetery in Greene County for a 10:00 a.m. graveside service.
