Earl Hancock, age 65 of Jefferson City, passed away Friday, May 25, 2018 at his home. Earl was born to Agnes and Harvey Hancock on February 2, 1953 in Tuckahoe, a stretch of Kodak, TN. He was an only child, but had many brothers and sisters in the music industry. He played the bass guitar all his life, and sang in his mother's church as a young man. Earl met the love of his life about 45 years ago, when he was 20 years old. Nancy and Earl raised 2 girls who gave him wonderful, loving grandchildren that thought the world of their Papaw. He was saved as a young man and rededicated his life before his passing. He was a good husband, father, and grandfather. Earl also volunteered with the Orebank Volunteer Fire Department in Greene Co. He will be greatly missed by all those who were lucky enough to know him.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Nancy Hancock; daughters, Sonya (John) Ricker and Tonya (Brad) Collins; grandchildren, Tyler Harbin, Seth Harbin, David Collins, Dana Collins, Andrew Ricker, Jonathan Ricker, along with many brothers and sisters in the music industry.
Graveside service will be 12:00 noon, Friday, June 1, 2018 at Bryant-Buckner Cemetery in Luttrell, TN.
