Euless Getter Hall

January 29, 1933 ~ May 17, 2018 (age 85)
Euless Getter Hall died peacefully on May 17th 2018 at Morristown Hamblen Hospital in Morristown, TN at the age of 85.
Getter is survived by his wife of 68 years, Norma Hall; his children, Earl (Martha) Hall, Kathy (Jim) Morie, Patty (Tony) Aplin, and Joe Asher; grandchildren, Earl "E.G." Hall, Jeremy Hall, Mikayla "Shay" Morie, and Jessica Aplin; and his great-grandchildren, Seth Hall, Lillian Hall and Zoey Hall as many well loved family members. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Edith Berdine "Deane" Hall-Briggs; great-grandson, Brandon Davis; sisters, Zetta, Etta, and Bessie; and brothers Aster and Quetter.

Getter was born on January 29th 1933 in Gastonia, NC to Euless Grant and Berdine Shelton-Hall. He was a faithful member of All Saints Epicopal Church where he also worked as a sexton for many years. Getter worked at Cherokee Park for 25 years, where he was the parks very first park ranger. He is also well known for working for the Hamblen County School System at Manley Elementary and Morristown Hamblen High School West for many years as a custodian.

Getter and his wife, Norma were foster parents for over 10 years and fostered more than 20 children. He was a devoted member of the Shriners organization, where was known for his work as Peppermint the Clown. He was known to volunteer in many ways through church, the Shriners and the school system. His family and friends remember him as a kind, generous, hard working man who encouraged them to pursue their goals and be the best they could. He is forever remembered as a man who would give his last penny to help a total stranger regardless of who they were.

A memorial service is scheduled for 5:00pm at All Saints Episcopal Church. Father Mark Holland will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Getter's life. In lieu of flowers the family would like donations be made to the All Saints Episcopal Church discretionary fund. The family would like to thank the staff of Morristown Hamblen Hospital, Dr. Paul Cardali and Dr. Sunil Ramaprasad for their dedication and care.
