Obituary Judith Diane Fitch, born in Cullman, AL on November 2, 1946 passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at her home in Mooresburg, TN with her family at her bedside. "Diane", as everyone called her, was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Morristown, TN. Diane lived her life to the fullest, traveling worldwide as her father and husband served a combined 51 years in the United States Army. Diane herself worked tirelessly for nearly 30 years as a civil servant with the U.S.Army while also delicately balancing her marriage of 46 years and motherhood. Diane is survived by her husband, Ronald B Fitch, LTC, U.S.Army (Ret), formerly of Winooski, Vermont; two children, daughter Melissa D. Fitch of Ashburn, VA and son Eric D. Fitch of Mooresburg, TN; her beloved granddaughter D. Mariella Fitch of Ashburn, VA; and her grandson Christian D. Fitch and granddaughter Savannah M. Fitch of Ashburn Farm, VA. Her parents, Lecile D. and Olvia D. Wix of Cullman, AL preceded her in death. Funeral Service is at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2016 at Alder Funeral Home, 4524 W. A.J. Hwy., Morristown, TN with Dr. Charles Starks officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. A private family burial will be Friday at the Mountain Home National Cemetery in Johnson City, Tennessee. Diane's favorite charities are "Doctors Without Borders" and the "Smoky Mountain Service Dogs". All flowers received will be donated to local hospices.
