Lynnette "Netty" Umberger King Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Lynnette Umberger King, "Netty" to those who knew and loved her, unexpectedly, but peacefully, left this earth and joined Jesus in the place He had saved for her on Jan 17th. Netty was prepared spiritually, but was probably not happy that she met Jesus without her teeth in. Netty was born Feb 27th, 1963 to Liz and Jr Umberger. She lived her childhood on Cherokee Dr in Morristown and attended Morristown West High where she played the baritone sax in the band. As a teenager, she was full of hot air and sass, and this served her well in playing the saxophone. Netty was a fun loving, mischievous Aunt to Keri and Kevin, Ricky and Heather, and Marky before she became the mother of Michael in 1988. Motherhood was her calling and her passion and she dedicated her life to being a Mom. Michael was the apple of her eye, and still is. After conquering Aunt-hood and motherhood, in 2007, after years of dating, she became a wife to Jerry King, her soulmate. Jerry describes Netty as the best wife a man could have, not another like her. From 2007, she conquered being a wife with unequaled love and devotion to her husband. Netty was one of those people that is a cheerleader for those she loves, but also for humanity as well. She believed that humanity as a whole was good and loving. Finally, Netty became a grandmother, Naynay as her grandbabies call her. She ruled grandmother hood like a boss and loved her grandbabies Luke, Maverick, and Addison. Lynnette was a strong, loving woman. In the end, what matters most is love conquered all and death lost it's sting because Jesus chose the worth of Netty, and deemed her more precious than rubies. Netty knew Jesus as her personal Savior, and today she is celebrating in her glorified body with Jesus and the Angels on High. We will miss her horse laugh, her gentle nature, her sense of humor, and her mama bear hugs, but most of all we will miss all the "I love you so much" told to us daily that filled our hearts. She never let a day pass that she didn't tell her loved ones how much we meant to her. Lynnette King leaves behind a strong legacy of love for her family, her steadfast soulmate Jerry, her devoted, loving son, Michael Winstead and his wife Morgan and genius grandbaby Luke; her bonus son Bobby King, his wife Brittany, and their beautiful babies Addie and Maverick; her best sister, Diane, nieces and nephews aplenty, aunts, uncles, and cousins galore in Grainger County and Wythe Co Virginia and her mother in law, who she considered her mom, Peggy King. I would be remiss in mentioning OceanLea Alderman, her dear and trusted friend, as well as many friends too numerous to mention. We will not mourn Netty's death, instead we will celebrate her life of enduring love and friendship at a Celebration of Life. Details will be announced in the coming days.
