Margaret Barrs Campbell

March 14, 1941 - December 27, 2015

Obituary Margaret Barrs Campbell passed away on December 27, 2015, at Lakeway Regional Hospital in Morristown, Tennessee. She had been ill for an extended period of time.Margaret was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, who, prior to her illness, enjoyed life to the fullest. Even during her illness, while mounting a courageous battle against several interrelated and serious health problems, she put forth maximum effort in continuing her participation in a variety of activities, primarily those involving family gatherings and travel with her husband. Most importantly, she continued to express her belief in Jesus Christ as the son of God and as her personal Lord and Savior. On many occasions during her illness she mentioned that she was prepared to move on and receive the peace which only God can provide. She was a member of Buffalo Trail Baptist Church, Morristown, TN.Margaret was born in Deleon Springs, Florida and attended public schools in Daytona Beach, graduating from Mainland High School. She continued her studies in accounting and worked as the chief financial officer for a local industry, managed real estate and on a few occasions started her own business. Her avocation was photography and she continuously was involved in organizations providing volunteer services to her community. Most recently she enjoyed her association with the Ladies of Lakemoore Group. Her great satisfaction and joy came from supporting her husband who was in the coaching profession for forty-seven years at the high school, college and university levels where he coached baseball. She was his teams' number one fan and supporter.Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Theodore Wallace Barrs, Sr. and Ellen Arcenia Barrs, her brother Theodore Wallace Barrs, Jr., and her sisters Mary Ellen Barrs and Shirley Barrs Feagle. She is survived by her husband, Kenneth R. Campbell of Morristown, TN, and her sister, Ruth Smith, West Palm Beach, FL, her sons Gene (Kris) Gordon, Michael (Lori) Campbell, and her daughter Cindy Gordon.
