Obituary William J. (Bill) Beckett, age 84 of Morristown, passed away Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at his home. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, former Scout Master, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy; preceded in death by his brothers, Oliver Beckett and Dean Beckett; and sister, Marcilla Beckett McLacey. Survivors include his wife, Ruth E. Beckett; son, Aaron Beckett; daughters, Kathryn (Jim Lumpkins) Beckett and Laura (Mac) Murrell; grandchildren, Steve Masengill, April Beckett Smith, Ira (Emily) Levinson, Lenzi Murrell (Josh) Noe, Rachel Levison (Brent) Graeber, Leslie Murrell (Brad) Lakins; great-grandchildren, Erin Smith, Ryan Smith, Tray and Tyler Masengill, McKinley Noe, Braylie Lakins, Crosby Graeber, and William J. Levinson. Visitation will be 6:00-7:30 p.m. Friday, October 28, 2016 at Alder Funeral Home and the funeral service to follow at 7:30 p.m. with Dr. Terry Kirby officiating. Family and friends will meet at Hamblen Memory Gardens Saturday, October 29, 2016 for a 12:00 p.m. graveside service.
