Albert C. Samsel Jr

January 13, 1926 ~ October 31, 2020 (age 94)

Albert Charles Samsel, Jr, age 94, passed away recently at his home in Bean Station, under the care of excellent Amedisys personnel and family members.  He was a World War II veteran, a member of the Lakeway Civil War, and Bean Station Historical Society, a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where he served on the Agricultural Board for nine years.

He loved life, people, and enjoyed good times, whether in a boat on the lake, skiing on a Colorado mountain, or traveling in his motor home to GMC Dixielander and GMC International rallies.  He built a campground on his farm and held a rally once each year for 28 years and had members come from most states, some from Canada, and one from Australia.

His working years started as sales manager for Ryder and Transcon Truck Line, and later in real estate; buying and building apartments and homes and selling them.  After retirement in Atlanta, he and wife Marti moved to Bean Station, his place of birth.

Active once again in real estate developments until health forced him to slow down.  He was a very good man and friend to many.

There will be a Celebration of Life, probably next year, when hopefully, our great country gets back to normal.
